Lamp projects with Tom Igoe

Tom Igoe and I have been making lamps out of a wide range of materials: parts of old tee-shirts, paper, fabric, tin foil and more. It has been a lot of fun. Here’s a few experiments.

Calvin Reid and I made a short film about making and wearing masks in the first year of the pandemic in New York City. Kind of a PSA.

In addition to the veils I am making inspired by the Book of Revelation, I am also making some based on Kaiju from the Japanese film Godzilla series. Here are a few.

Pockets

Something that has always driven me crazy is the lack of pockets in a lot of women’s clothing. I have made a few, to wrap around your neck, arm, waist, some with hoodies or little packs. I started these a few years back, finishing up some of the sewing and embroidery on them now. Here’s a few photos, there are lots more.

These are laser cut from old teeshirts or sweat shirts, sewn together by hand. I like to combine digital fabrication with handcraft.
